The property is located in the center of an area rich in history with wonderful views of the surrounding landscape. It is positioned on the hilly ridge that separates the Val di Chiana – admirably sung by Dante, from the Crete Senesi – reproduced by Ambrogio Lorenzetti in the frescoes of the Palazzo Pubblico of Siena. The beautiful panorama sweeps from the hills of Montepulciano and Mount Cetona toward the “crete”, Mount Amiata and the cities of Siena and Montalcino.
The property has a total living area of 2650sqm and 65 hectares of land.
The main villa is surrounded by other buildings which formed the original ancient medieval village, including a Catholic consacrated church.
On the land beyond the courtyard garden is a large olive grove with 1760 olive trees from which an excellent extra virgin olive oil DOP Terre di Siena is made. The entire village was completely renovated in 2000 by the current owner with respect for all the historical, architectural and environmental characteristics.
The 18th century main villa is used as a 4-star hotel which has 6 suites and 3 bedrooms which are furnished with antique furniture carefully chosen according to the style and era of the building. Two of the 6 suites have fresco decorations from the nineteenth century which embellish the walls and ceiling. To ensure complete comfort, each room and suite is equipped with a telephone, mini-bar, air conditioning, satellite TV and Wi-Fi.
The village is currently used as an accommodation facility with 22 apartments comprised of a total of 32 rooms, besides the already mentioned 9 bedrooms of the main villa, which are all furnished with Tuscan folk art furniture,. The traditional flag stones, the arches, and the renovated fireplaces evoke the rich past of this historic site. There is a wonderful garden with swimming pool, jacuzzi and a tennis court.
It also includes a restaurant and wine bar created in a suggestive environment formerly used as a cellar with wonderful vaulted ceilings, exposed stone walls and paving in ancient Tuscan terracotta. The exterior of the restaurant consists of a very pleasant courtyard with breakfast lounge.
The entire property is perfectly set up for hosting conferences, weddings and various other events, with bar and typical local products shop.
Included is a heliport and a spacious parking area.
