Through his unique interpretation, he was able to lead avant-garde art. His contribution to abstract art, in particular cubism, made him an acclaimed and valued artist worldwide.

Antonio Banderas

This actor was one of the first to emigrate and try his luck in the Hollywood film industry. During his international career, he’s achieved success on numerous occasions. In his display cabinets are several Goya Awards, an award for best actor at the Cannes Film Festival and several nominations for very important awards like the Oscars (this year), the Emmy Awards and the Golden Globes.

Pepa Flores, Marisol

This actress and singer from Malaga was revolutionary throughout her career and managed to become the icon of a generation for which musicals showed some of the most talented children and young people. Her importance is such that despite having being professionally retired since 1985, she received the Goya of Honor in 2020, in recognition of her professional career.

Antonio Molina

Antonio Molina was a singer, dancer and actor. If Molina stood out for something, it was for his voice, capable of reaching extraordinarily high notes, somewhat surprising in a man. Although he starred in several films, international success came in the 1960s when he was involved in a European tour with guitarist Niño Ricardo.

Antonio Ordoñez

The bullfighter, son of the bullfighter Cayetano Ordoñez, was acclaimed by national and international experts. One of the reasons why she’s so well-known was her definition of attitudes towards thought: the philosophical attitude (the one which asks) and the poetic attitude (the one which tries to give an answer).

As you can see, Malaga province has witnessed the birth of some of the most famous people in contemporary Spain, whose contributions have helped shape the society we know today. Take a trip to Malaga and immerse yourself in the culture which famous people like these have managed to imbue its streets with and which still persists to this day.

Malaga is the birthplace of some of the most important celebrities in recent history.
