The <strong>walk along the Ch\u00edllar river bed<\/strong> is a round trip of 16 kilometres, although it\u2019s not necessary to finish the route to enjoy an excellent experience. Along the route, you can admire different waterfalls and caves with gorges.<\/p>\n<p>You can choose to take the short route of 4 kilometres. As an interesting fact, you should know that it owes its name to Alfonso XII, who said when he was there that from his balcony he <strong>could see Africa from Spain<\/strong>. This beautiful place is located in an idyllic spot between Sal\u00f3n and Calahonda beaches.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Discover_Nerja_Caves\"><\/span><strong>Discover Nerja Caves<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Nerja Caves are one of the places you definitely have to visit. Especially if you\u2019re passionate about prehistoric remains, because many are preserved there. These caves were discovered in 1959, and it\u2019s considered that their cave paintings could be <strong>the first work of art in the history of mankind<\/strong>, at more than 42,000 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Another striking feature of these caves is that they house <strong>the largest stalactite in the world<\/strong>, so if you are a geology lover, you\u2019ll love this visit.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Explore_the_Nerja_Cave_Museum\"><\/span><strong>Explore the Nerja Cave Museum<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>The Nerja Cave museum<\/strong> is also a very interesting place which allows you to observe in its various rooms a <strong>large number of replicas of the archaeological pieces which have been found in the area<\/strong>. This museum is next to the Balcony of Europe, so you shouldn\u2019t have any trouble visiting both sites.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Relax_on_its_beaches_and_coves\"><\/span><strong>Relax on its beaches and coves<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Finally, <strong>we recommend<\/strong> that you take a walk along the different beaches and coves of Nerja. Among <strong>the most beautiful beaches<\/strong> are those of Burriana, Carabeillo, Carabeo, Calahonda, Chorrillo, El Sal\u00f3n, Caletilla, Chucho, Torrecilla and Playazo. Any of these beaches is a good option for taking a dip.<\/p>\n<p>These are just some of the many <strong>unique places you will find in Nerja<\/strong> and which we heartily recommend you visit.
