That\u2019s why we\u2019ve collected some of the most important and representative festivals from a culture which is internationally recognised for its <strong>unique colourfulness and popular devotion <\/strong>which make it a true gem of Spanish culture.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Malaga_Carnival\"><\/span><strong>Malaga Carnival<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>It will be held from 15th to 23rd February next year. Among its main attractions is the performance of <strong><em>murgas<\/em>, <em>comparsas <\/em>and <em>agrupaciones <\/em><\/strong>(groups of singers and dancers). At Malaga Carnival you can\u2019t miss the <strong>Battle of the Flowers<\/strong> on the last Saturday of Carnival or the <strong>Burial of the Anchovy<\/strong> on the last Sunday.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Malaga_Fair\"><\/span><strong>Malaga Fair<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>A true spectacle of colour, music and authenticity held in August. The Malaga Fair is an event full of <strong>centuries-old traditions<\/strong> which have become the so-called Great Summer Festival. Fireworks, <strong>processions and celebrations<\/strong> where you can enjoy attractions, live music, good wine and the region\u2019s best traditional dishes.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Marbella_Carnival\"><\/span><strong>Marbella Carnival<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s one of the most famous parties on the Costa del Sol. The Marbella Carnival is celebrated in February or March and has an wide programme of activities in which both locals and visitors participate: group competitions, <strong>humour parades<\/strong>, speeches by children, parades<strong>,<\/strong> a children&#8217;s <em>chirigotas <\/em>contest and a <em>chorizada <\/em>(chorizo barbecue). A festival for the enjoyment of young and old alike.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Andalusia_Day\"><\/span><strong>Andalusia Day<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Andalusia Day takes place on 28th February, in commemoration of the granting of Andalusian autonomy. In addition to the official ceremonies, it\u2019s the perfect occasion to enjoy local <strong>culture and cuisine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Feast_of_Our_Lady_of_the_Candelaria\"><\/span><strong>Feast of Our Lady of the Candelaria<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s celebrated in the town of Benagalb\u00f3n, in the month of February. The feast of Our Lady of the Candelaria is one of the most famous religious celebrations where, in addition to the traditional procession, you can also enjoy <strong>music concerts, communal meals<\/strong>, <strong>competitions and dances<\/strong>. At the end of the festival, the statue of the patron is placed in a local church, dating from the 16th century.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Easter_Week_in_Malaga\"><\/span><strong>Easter Week in Malaga<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>One of the best ways to enjoy authentic Easter holidays: processions full of <strong>passion<\/strong> where the different brotherhoods and sisterhoods parade their statues, accompanied by incredible devotion and human warmth. You can admire unique elements such as traditional <strong><em>mantillas<\/em>,<\/strong> enjoy heartfelt <strong><em>saetas<\/em><\/strong> or taste exquisite <strong><em>torrijas <\/em><\/strong>(like French toasts).
